Psy 'Gentleman' Praised By Ryu Hyun Jin And The LA Dodgers

With Psy's new music video for "Gentleman" at well over 100 million views in just a few days time, it seems most of the Korean focus is on him (sorry North Korea). But there is another famous Korean in America, LA Dodgers' starting pitcher, Ryu Hyun Jin - and he has nothing but good things to say about his fellow countryman.

On April 15 he got on Twitter to say that he and his teammates are thoroughly enjoying Psy's new song, "Gentleman." The 26-year-old pitcher tweeted, "Today the players watched [the "Gentleman video] and they think it's really awesome!"

Psy replied with some encouraging words for the young athlete as well. "I'll cheer for you as soon as I get to LA at the end of April. I'll make sure to do something special when you take the mound. Always fighting! (Please follow me)."

Earlier this month a relationship was formed between the two Korean celebrities when the LA Dodgers posted a video from their spring training season of Ryu performing the "Gangnam Style" dance routine in the locker room with two other players. The video went viral and even Psy took notice.

While the starting pitcher may have accumulated his own American fans, it is nothing compared to the success Psy has found in the United States, first with "Gangnam Style" and now with his new single "Gentleman."

But it is nice to know that the two share a mutual respect for each other and offer their unyielding support. And many fans of both are looking forward to seeing Psy at a Dodgers game later this month.
