In a press conference on April 17, the pair revealed they had yet to make a final decision, but are seriously considering all their options. They reportedly visited the YG, SM, and JYP agencies over the past week, spending considerable time at each one.
In the press conference, they talked about their expectations for whatever label they eventually decide on. They stated, "Overall, we are thinking of an agency who contemplates and loves our music together with us. We hope to choose an agency that teaches us a lot and fills the areas where we are lacking."
The younger sister, Lee Soo Hyun, gave the press a run-down of their impressions of each record label. "SM has a clean yet very refined style. In YG, right when you walk in you can just instantly see that it's cool. The artists in the building are all very cool. JYP is really like a family atmosphere. They meet with you personally and give you mentoring, warmly welcoming us."
Akdong Musician also further explained that they are carefully considering the important decision and are "trying to listen to all the advice given to us."
The siblings are temporarily headed back to their home in Mongolia on April 20 for some much needed rest and relaxation and to process their options before making a decision. They will spend time with their parents, missionaries who moved the family to Mongolia two years ago from South Korea.
After some time recuperating, Akdong Musician is expected to return to Korea with their final decision.
The two siblings sang their ways into hearts across Korea with their catchy original songs and supremely interesting arrangements. Already topping music charts, it was no surprise when they were named the winners of K-Pop Star season two.
