Nicole Richie reportedly wanted to have more kids with Joel Madden. In an item on Radar Online, it was claimed the "Candidly Nicole" star apparently believed a baby could make their marriage stronger.

"Nicole is currently gaining weight because she is trying for another child with Joel," an insider told the source above. "After going through a really rough patch she feels that having a baby will help repair everything that is wrong with them."

The report also mentioned that some of the couple's friends were worried and apparently believed the reality star only wanted to be pregnant to tie the rocker to her once again.

It was not clear though how Joel Madden felt about Nicole Richie's apparent change of heart about having more kids. The Good Charlotte front man has currently been busy as his band has been hinting on a comeback.

As reported as well by Dish Nation back in September, the couple was rumored to have had a different stand on the matter. At the time, the "Candidly Nicole" star had imposed a "baby ban."

"Joel is adamant about adding to their family and insists they can well afford nannies and housekeepers, but Nic isn't buying his sales pitch," an insider told the source above at that time.

"I am not planning on any more, but you never know," Richie also spilled to E! Online in July. "I don't wanna say I don't want them and then they come and I feel bad."

As told by InTouch Weekly, the new baby move was apparently an attempt to fix their rocky marriage. It has been rumored for months now that the couple may be on the brink of divorce. But the "Candidly Nicole" star's father, Lionel Richie, has dispelled the incessant rumors in September to E! Online just like he has done in the past.

"I'm going to set the record straight," Lionel Richie said about the Nicole Richie, Joel Madden divorce rumors. "They are so happy."
