Back when "Gangnam Style" was all the rage, Psy was asked in an interview which celebrity he would most like to see "go Gangnam style." The Korean rapper's answer? British rock band Queen's legendary guitarist Brain May.

It seems the English rocker was paying attention.

In the April 22 broadcast of Bae Cheol Soo's Music Camp radio program on MBC FM4U, Psy said that Brain May had recently asked him to participate in his upcoming remix album.

Psy told listeners that he is "thrilled" about the opportunity to work with the famous musician.

Psy went on to tell Bae Cheol Soo that he has spent the past 13 years as a dance musician and that he wants to try his hand at rock music. He noted the band Queen as an exceptional example of performers with tremendous live concerts.

A Psy-Brian May mashup might not be exactly what fans had in mind when they started asking about possible collaborations for the Korean superstar, but May has been in the music industry for a long time, so it is pretty safe to say he knows what he's doing.

And dabbling in rock 'n' roll may just provide Psy the opportunity to reinvent his image and maintain his status as an international music icon after the "Gangnam Style" and "Gentleman" buzz dies down.
