It appears EXO’s Byun Baekhyun, will very soon be starring in his first TV drama, Moon Lovers.'

The news was announced by SM Entertainment on Nov. 17 that the EXO vocalist was in talks to star in the new drama Moon Lovers set to air in 2016.

The show will be a remake of the Chinese historical drama Scarlet Heart that was first aired in December of 2010. The director of the South Korean remake, Kim Kyu Tae, also directed It’s Okay, That’s Love which starred the 23-year-old star’ s fellow EXO member D.O (Do Kyung Soo).

Baekhyun is one of the many members of the pop group who will be taking on new acting projects in the coming months. D.O has already been cast in two movies slated to hit theaters in 2016 and EXO's rapper Chanyeol has also secured two movie roles. Xiumin is currently starring in the web-drama Falling for Challenge as well preparing for his big-screen debut in historical film Kim Sun Dal.

Moon Lovers is expected to begin filming in early 2016.
