Omar Borkan Al Gala Gains 250,000 Facebook Followers In Two Days; Dubai Man Deemed "Too Handsome" For Saudi Arabia Gains Facebook Following

Saudi Arabian officials may not like Omar Borkan Al Gala, but there are plenty of people who have on Facebook. The Dubai native Al Gala, who was kicked out of a festival in the Saudi Arabian city of Riyadh and then deported for being "too handsome," has gained 250,000 extra followers on Facebook in the 48 hours since the scandal broke.

The self-described actor, photographer and poet originally had 85,000 fans on his Facebook page, but that number has since soared to over 335,000 fans since news broke of his Saudi Arabian scandal.

"Hi, and thank you for all those lovely messages. I'm sorry I haven't had time to get back to all of you :D Xoxo I Love you all!" wrote Al Gala on Thursday.

Al Gala's Facebook has gained rapid popularity due to his modeling photos and musings such as, "The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides."

Sky Dancing Blog reports that Al Gala was attending the annual Janadriyah Festival in the capital city of Riyadh, when police in Saudi Arabia kicked out Al Gala because they were worried "female visitors would fall for him."

Al Gala and two other men were immediately deported back to the city of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates. They were reportedly promoting the United Arab Emirates at a stand in the festival, but were asked to leave after a female Emirati artist unexpectedly showed up to the event. The conservative Muslim society prohibits women from interacting with males who are not related to them.

A spokesman for the UAE delegation confirmed in a statement that, "Her visit to the UAE stand was a coincidence as it was not included in the programme which we had already provided to the festival's management."
