As the winter season hits Korea, Girls' Generation leader and solo artist Kim Taeyeon decided to tie up her locks into cute pigtail braids.

Interestingly, as seen in the Intsgaram photo she uploaded on Monday, the pigtail weave matched the chunky sweater she was wearing to keep warm in the cold weather.

Similar hairstyles have been worn by the singer in recent weeks as she promoted her solo debut single "I," including her performance last week at the Mnet Asian Music Awards in Hong Kong.

Online commenters complimented the idol for looking quite lovely with the classically stylish hairstyle.

"Soooo beautiful," "Cute," and "Barbie," said online commenters upon seeing her Instagram update.

Taeyeon and fellow Girls' Generation members Tiffany and Seohyun - collectively known as the subunit group TTS - recently released their holiday track "Dear Santa."

The TTS comeback closes off what has been a very hectic year for the idol. In October, she made her solo debut with "I," and rocked the charts, with her title track music video becoming the most watched K-Pop video that month.

Then earlier in July, Taeyeon also led Girls' Generation in their 2015 comeback, starting with the "Party" single in July which then culminated with the release of the group's fifth full album Lion Heart in August. This was the first Korean comeback for the group as eight members without longtime member Jessica, who departed in 2014.
