All hope might be lost for Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth shippers as reports have surfaced that things were reportedly heating up between the Australian actor and Jennifer Lawrence.

According to an item on Entertainment.ie, the "Mockingjay Part 2" co-star were apparently spotted recently in New York getting close but not in a platonic way.

"Liam had his arm around Jen for most of their meal and she was resting her head against his shoulder," an insider told Heat as cited by the source above. "They looked very cozy and were touching the entire time."

Rumors about the "Mockingjay Part 2" pair getting together in real life has been swirling since October. At the time, Celeb Dirty Laundry claimed they have become phone pals.

"Lots of people were convinced they would wind up together, and they still could!" a source told OK! magazine as cited by the gossip website. "Jen has been calling Liam all the time, especially at night."

But while Jennifer Lawrence Liam Hemsworth rumors get intense, Miley Cryus fans have not given up hopes that the "Wrecking Ball" singer will reunite with her ex-fiancé.  

In a resent post of a text with the words "I love you" on Instragram,  fans of the "Wrecking Ball" singer apparently freaked out after assuming that the message was from the Australian actor. Others insisted on their comments though that it might not be about the "Mockingjay Part 2" actor at all.

At the same time as the Jennifer Lawrence rumors, the gossip was that Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth were purportedly back on because the actress shared a picture of her wearing a Ninja Turtle onesie that the Australia actor has reportedly previously worn as told by J-14. The exes even apparently were in contact last month so that the "Mockingjay Part 2" actor could adopt a new rescue dog as reported by Entertainment Tonight.
