A lot of "Friends" fans thought their dreams have come true after rumors circulated that Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry may be dating in real life after she split with Johnny McDaid.

In an item on Hollywood Life, it was mentioned that the Monica and Chandler actor apparently hooked up after she parted ways with her fiancée.

"It's no surprise that Matthew was one of the first people Courtney called after Johnny left her," a Star insider shared as cited by the source above. "They've leaned on each other before - during her infertility struggle and his battle with addiction."

The Monica and Chandler actors reportedly hang out recently but ended up "hooking up," according to the insider. Despite this though, they're purportedly taking it one day at a time.

"There isn't any pressure to put a label on it just yet, but they're excited to see where this might go," the insider added.

But as fast as the rumors about Courtney Cox and Matthew Perry caught fire amid her split with Johnny McDaid, entertainment news sites quashed the dreams of many Monica and Chandler fans. As reported by E! Online, a source told them that the former "Friends" co-stars were apparently not dating.

Still, according to The Independent, the clarification has not stopped Monica and Chandler fans from making memes or simple social media posts about the pair and swooning over it.

It also seemingly appeared that the Courtney Cox Matthew Perry rumors had nothing to do with the "Friends" actress' split from Johnny McDaid.

As told by TMZ, the Snow Patrol member and the actress called of their engagement just earlier this month. They apparently tried to save their relationship, even going through counselling, but still ended up parting ways. Just hours after the purported split, the actress was spotted without her engagement ring per Us Weekly.
