Psy's Name Added to Encyclopedia Britannica

Psy has been added to Encyclopedia Britannica, the oldest English-language Encyclopedia still produced, as South Korean singer and rapper.

Britannica released a statement saying, "Although Psy has had his share of controversies with satirical work, he has achieved global fame with 'Gangnam Style' in 2012. He has also broken the world record with 1 billion YouTube hits with his music video."

Britannica was first published in 1768 in Scotland and has expanded over the last 230 years. Starting in March of this year, it began to only produce online versions, following the global trend toward less print and more electronic copies.

Psy, who is currently in the United States for promotional purposes, will attend the Social Star Awards which will be held on May 23 in Singapore.

According to the official homepage, starcount.com, Psy is nominated for 'Music Solo Artist' along with Justin Bieber, Katie Perry and Rihanna.

On May 24, as part of a post-award stage, Psy will perform at 'Singapore Social Concert' along with Cee Lo Green and other artists.
