Joaquin Phoenix Home Purchase: Actor Drops $1.3M On The House Next Door

Joaquin Phoenix home purchase caught our radar recently, as the actor dropped $1.3 million for the neighbor’s house next door. According to Celebuzz, he loves where he lives so much, he not only kept his property but purchased the neighbor’s as well.

The Academy-Award winning actor already resides in a humble abode atop the Hollywood Hills at the famed Laurel Canyon and Mulholland Drive, but after living for seven years in the area, he seems to be looking to expand his real estate.

According to Trulia, the 38-year-old actor’s current “ordinary-by-Hollywood-standards” property, which was featured in his infamous mock-umentary “I’m Still Here,” was purchased in November 2006 for a not-so-ordinary price of $4.8 million. It seems that the house next door was just too good to pass up for Joaquin Phoenix, especially because “it’s only” listed for a mere $1.3 million.

The million dollar and some home includes a 2,511 square foot gated home with three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a living room and dining room that opens up to a grassy landscape courtyard, all of which includes a stone waterfall and a custom outdoor fireplace.

The new residence of Joaquin Phoenix includes a captivating view of the canyon and the city.

The new home is a downsize from his current 3,753 square foot, four-bedroom space, but this new addition to his real estate comes with upgraded amenities. It has a refurbished kitchen that includes top-of-the-line appliances, center island and a bonus room with its very own entrance. The master suite of the $1.3 million house has a newly remastered bath and a large built-in closet.
