'Show Me The Money' Plans U.S. Auditions For Season 5 Contestants

Mnet's popular, and highly controversial, rap competition program Show Me The Money is searching for both domestic and international talent for the upcoming fifth season.

On Jan. 27, Mnet revealed that they would be adding more diversity to their talent by searching globally for their future talent. "So many rappers overseas have asked to be a part of the show," Mnet explained to Yonhap News. "We've decided to expand this opportunity to rappers worldwide to promote a more diverse group of rappers."

Mnet further shared that this opportunity will continue beyond season five. According to AllKpop, Mnet shared "From this year onwards, we will hold preliminary auditions not only in Korea but also in the United States."

Those interested in joining the intense Show Me The Money competition have from February 1 thru March 6 to apply. Applications will be accepted in two forms: first, by applying through the official Show Me The Money 5 website. Or, rappers can upload a fifteen second rap video onto Instagram and share it with Mnet's Instagram account (@mnetsmtm).

Show Me The Money is known for identifying talented idol and underground rappers. Previous winners include AOMG's Loco, who also served as a producer judge during Show Me the Money 4, Bobby of YG Entertainment's popular boy group iKON, and underground artist Basick.
