Lee Hyori Thankful For The Haters, 'Ready To Have Fun'

Lee Hyori extended thanks to fans and antis alike for the response to her new single "Miss Korea."

Lee Hyori is back after nearly three years and her pre-release single "Miss Korea" has shot right to the top of the charts.

The positive response from fans and the media has humbled the K-Pop diva who recently expressed how thankful she is for the public interest in her latest project on her online fan cafe.

Lee Hyori posted her reaction to the instant success of "Miss Korea," saying, "After finishing a year-and-a-half long recording [for the album] and filming the title track music video, I think to myself, 'It's really the beginning now.' My three-year hiatus, the various things that changed within me during those years, and having the title of a woman in her mid-30s are not east things to carry on my shoulders."

She then went on to express her gratitude to those who both love and hate her. "I am thankful that I still have antis and mean comments," she wrote. "I think I would hate it more if there was just no response."

Lee Hyori's long-anticipated fifth studio album will be released on May 21 and it seems that the seasoned singer is ready to challenge her younger idol peers. She ended her fan cafe post with "As I compete with many junior artists, I inevitably have to go head-to-head with them on the charts. But I think that I have my own role. I am ready to have fun and humbly accept whatever is given to me."

True words of poise from the K-Pop queen herself.

But if "Miss Korea" is any indication of what is in store for the rest of the upcoming album, experienced Lee Hyori does not have anything to worry about.
