FNC Entertainment Sues Over 30 Malicious Commenters For Spreading Rumors

FNC Entertainment has finally taken legal action against those who left malicious comments on articles about their artists.

The entertainment agency housing popular idol group AOA and comedian Yoo Jae-Suk, has had their artists be on the receiving end of malicious rumors and comments for quite a long time.

Back in January, FNC announced that they would get stricter on those who post negative comments.

Now, the agency has sued over 30 people for spreading rumors, slandering their artists, and causing emotional distress.

FNC released a formal statement detailing the recent lawsuit.

"We have alerted the Computer Emergency Response Team and filed lawsuits against over 30 individuals on the basis of online defamation and contempt," the agency began.

"We previously stated on our homepage that we would begin to take a firm legal response against those who spread baseless rumors, leave malicious comments, and attack the character of our artists," the agency explained. "Despite this, the comments have still not ceased, which has caused significant emotional and psychological damage to those referenced, their families, and those around them.

FNC also affirmed their intention to be firm on commenters in the future.

"We are planning to continuously store the username of anyone that posts malicious comments. We will do whatever it takes to eradicate these verbal attacks and create a safe, wholesome internet," FNC Entertainment added, ending their statement.

It seems that FNC Entertainment has finally put their foot down in regards to protecting their artists, especially AOA, who seems to have received the brunt of the negative rumors and malicious comments.
