"Persona 5" is one of the most anticipated games for PlayStation this year.  The JRPG offers a unique storyline with impressive graphics that takes full advantage of the latest PlayStation console.  Although the game was set to be released in 2015, IGN reported that the game was delayed until summer of 2016. The latest information about the game's eventual release was through a retailer-based poster for "Persona 5" last February via Persona Central.

No additional information is currently available for fans of the game. Unfortunately, the summer 2016 release is only for Japanese market with no information on worldwide release. The worldwide or at least the US release of the game would be a few months after the original Japanese version.

But gamers have to be a little bit more patient for this game, according to n4bb.com, "Other analysts warn, however, that Persona 5 might not be released in other countries across North America and Europe until early 2017 because localized versions of Japanese games aren't usually released until around seven months after their Japan launch."

There are also rumors that the game might be scrapped altogether for early 2017 release. The reason? A game called "Final Fantasy XV" was recently announced for September 30 release.  The forum site for gamefaqs.com is currently on intense discussion on the possible move of Atlus. "Final Fantasy XV" is going to be a big hit in the US and it could have some big impact in other territories as well which means "Persona 5" could also take a hit in terms of sales.

For now, fans should take the assurance of the latest information about the game. Summer 2016 release for "Persona 5" is still a go and there are no announcement for delays. It's just a bit unfortunate that the worldwide release of the very popular JPRG is possibly delayed until next year.
