TWICE's Jeongyeon Flies Back To Korea After Leg Injury During Filming

Jeongyeon of TWICE was flown back to Korea after injuring her leg on the set of SBS variety show "Laws Of The Jungle."

On June 5, a representative of JYP Entertainment made a statement on the incident, stating, "Jeongyeong has traveled to an unfamiliar island far from home to participate in the program, but both her agency and the production team agree that her recovery is their biggest priority, so it was recommended that she return to Korea."

"Jeongyeon will soon return to Korea to receive a diagnosis and begin treatment. Her leg injury is not serious," the representative added, dispelling fears that the Twice member had suffered a major injury.

The representative also mentioned that Jeongyeon wanted to continue filming, despite her injury, stating "Although she expressed her strong desire to continue filming, it's best if she returns home."

The current edition of "Laws Of The Jungle" is filmed in New Caledonia, a small set of tropical islands located in the South Pacific.

Jeongyeon departed Korea to head to the filming location on June 2.  The next episode will air as scheduled, on June 7.
