Watch: Hwang Chi Yeol Releases 'Firefly' With GFRIEND's Eunha Featuring Lil Boi
On October 4, How Entertainment revealed GFriend's Eunha as the first person Hwang Chi Yeol will be teaming up with for his girl group collaboration album, 'Fall, In Girl'. It had only been a week after that announcement was made.
Now, their finished song 'Firefly' has finally been released and the many fans who have been dying to hear Chi Yeol's husky voice mix with the sweet young voice of Eunha can now finally be at peace. The song also features Lil Boi of the hip hop duo Geeks.
Not only will this be Hwang Chi Yeol's comeback single, it would also mark the second duet Eunha has made, the first one being with Block B's Park Kyung on his song 'Inferiority Single'. Eunha had also garnered positive reactions from her guest appearance on MBC's King of Masked Singer where she showcased her strong vocal talent, reports Soompi.
'Firefly' was also co-written and co-produced by IEE GI and YONG BAE who are also the faces behind the hit tracks of GFriend.
The song opens with a rap intro by Lil Boi which would be immediately followed by Hwang Chi Yeol and Eunha's singing. The music video features the three artists recording the song with the lyrics presented in a way that is similar to the three having conversations using a messenger app. The whole song itself has a fun and upbeat tune with cute stickers and emojis appearing now and then.
Earlier on, Chi Yeol's talent agency had already expressed their gratitude for the strong interest and anticipation for their project collaboration. In this project, Hwang Chi Yeol will be working with a number of different singers from various girl groups. Eunha is only the first among other women Chi Yeol will be working with. Hwang Chi Yeol will be releasing the songs periodically till the end of the year.
