Song Joong Ki to Appear in a Cameo Role for 'Descendants' Writer's New Drama

Months after the phenomenal Korean TV series 'The Descendants of the Sun' had concluded, fans have been eagerly waiting and hoping for a follow up series. But if you couldn't handle not seeing your favorite stars in the television screen for far too long, it would certainly give you much pleasure to know that Descendants main man Song Joong Ki would cameo in a new Korean drama 'Man to Man' which stars actors Park Sung Woong and Park Hae Jin.

Man to Man is written by no other than Kim Won Suk who also co-wrote The Descendants of the Sun, and follows the story of Hae Jin's character who is an NIS agent and hired bodyguard to a Hallyu star.

Song Joong Ki's involvement in the show will be short however his participation is certainly driving attention to the upcoming series. Joong Ki will be playing the role of an assistant director.

Joong Ki once said in an interview that Descendants have made him realize how important it is to get everyone involved and while he was filming the hit TV series, he tried his best to get every staff and cast get engaged which helped them all in the long run especially when they were filming in different countries. His involvement in Man to Man may just be his own thoughtful way of thanking Kim Won Suk.

According to the 31-year old actor, Descendants became a great learning opportunity for him.

And fortunately for the actor, that same show became a big success not only in South Korea but also throughout Asia where he gained quite a big following often called the Song Joong Ki Syndrome. He is currently filming Battleship Island which will be released sometime next year.

Meanwhile, Man to Man is also set to be released next year and the show starts filming in November.
