Big Bang New Album Delay’s Girl Group Debut

YG Entertainment revealed to debut a new girl group earlier this year. There had been hints that the group would make their debut as early as January.

Since the company decided to prepare the comeback of Big Bang, their focus has shifted. This in turn put off the girl group’s debut to a later date.

Big Bang’s album had put on hold, due to events that occurred during the second half of 2011, which at that time members have been hard at work. The group was originally scheduled to release their album in March in time for their 2012 Big Show concert. YG decided to move their comeback up as preparations for the album have been going exceedingly well. It will be a year since their 4th mini album last February.

The new girl group is expected to make their official debut sometime after March. The first girl group by the label, 2NE1 became successful and influential based on the different style of music, unlike any other girl group before them.

The new girl group also will be different from what the label has done previously. YG is hoping to feature new music, fashion styles as well as image. There are new marketing techniques to be implemented into the group’s promotion.

The group members have not yet all been revealed. For now MNET “Superstar K2” Kim Eun Bi is the only member revealed to be part of YG’s future girl group.

2NE1 leader CL shared with OSEN about the new group, “They are not anything like us, and they have their own different colors. The girl group looks ready and they are very excited. You will definitely look forward to seeing them.”
