It has been a while since audiences had news about "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2. But, it looks like the insanely popular Korean drama will be going ahead with its new season as it has been speculated that stars Song Hye Kyo and Song Joong Ki are in final negotiations to star in "Descendants of the Sun" season 2.

With Soompi reporting the triumph of "Descendants of the Sun" in the recently concluded APAN Star Awards, KBS is said to be pleased with how successful the show has been for them. This is why they have lobbied hard for both Song Joong Ki and Song Hye Kyo to star in "Descendants of the Sun" Season 2. Apart from the show's awards, the Korean TV network is also said to be aiming to replicate the 22 billion views the first season Asia One reported the first season had in China alone.
