JTBC's newest romantic comedy series "My Wife's Having an Affair this Week" garnered high ratings from Nielsen Korea and TNmS for their episodes 1 to 6. This has been the most watched K-drama in JTBC.

Based from the statistics released by both institutions, the series received 2.51% from Nielsen Korea and a 2% from TNmS which were both relatively high for a K-drama shown in a cable channel. So far, the fifth episode of the series had the highest rating with 3% for Nielsen Korea and 2.4% from TNmS.

So, what makes people tune in to JTBC to watch "My Wife's Having an Affair" this week?

"My Wife's Having an Affair this Week" is actually a miniseries consisting of 12 episodes. It started airing on October 28 and is expected to end on December 3. The plot revolves around Do Hyun, played by actor Lee Sun Gyun, a PD who is in search for a new concept for his show.

Then, Do Hyun just found out accidentally that his wife Soo Yeon, played by actress Song Ji Hyo, was having an affair. Things got crazier as he posted his situation on SNS and received tons of reactions from anonymous people. The series also have amazing extramarital love issues from the other two supporting love teams.

The series stars top tier actors and actresses which might also be the reason why the ratings are reflecting the good news. Lead by Sun Gyun and Ji Hyo, the show also had a powerhouse cast with Kim Hee Won, Ye Ji Won, Lee Sang Yeob, and BoA doing a good job.

Recently, there's also been a trend in the K-dramas released this season which showcases controversial issues. One of this is the recently concluded SBS series "Jealousy Incarnate" which offered a plot where two best friends fell for the same girl.

It's not anyone's ordinary love story as the drama twisted the storyline with the two guys allowing the girl to two-time them while living at the same house. Although adultery stories aren't new in the land of K-dramas, "My Wife's Having an Affair this Week" offered a fresher perspective as it presents the issue in a lighter mood and from the perspective of the husband.
