MBC officially introduces upcoming drama ‘Night Light’ airing next week
MBC made an official introduction to the upcoming drama “Night Light” in a press conference at the company’s headquarter. The drama is scheduled to replace “Woman with a Suitcase” as a Monday and Tuesday night drama, its story revolves around a struggle and survival in a cruel business world.
The press conference was held this Thursday, Nov. 17 at the company’s headquarter in Western Seoul. According to Yonhap News Agency, the drama portrays an ambition of a woman to build her own business empire over her father’s business which is in the brink of collapse.
“Night Light” is written by Han Ji-Hoon, who is well-known for crating a drama with such an intense plot like his last project the JTBC drama “Last” which was aired in 2015. The director Lee Jae-Dong is famous for his romantic dramas. This drama will be his project to provide a different direction.
"It's a story about a woman in a world that is dishonest about greed, ambition, money and power, Lee said in the press conference. “She reveals her greed honestly, doesn't hide it and boldly walks toward her goal."

Playing as the main character in “Night Light” is Lee Yo-Won who is famous for her role as queen Seondeok in the 2009 sageuk (period) drama in MBC titled “The Great Queen Seondeok” and also the SBS drama “Empire of Gold” in 2013. She is accompanied by actor Jin Goo and a member of After School idol group Uee.
Lee is cast as Seo Yi-Kyung, the only child of a Korean-Japanese businessman whose business is nearly collapse. She returned to Korea to build her own business empire and meet two people, her ex boy-friend Park Gun-Woo (Jin) and a poor and brave young woman who is willing to take on anything Lee Se-Jin (Uee).
Her ambition takes the major portion of the drama as reported by Korea International News.
