Last November 19, Melon Music Awards happened. Idol groups performed and awards were given. EXO won the artist of the year. BTS won the album of the year and Twice won the song of the year. Here is the complete list of winners from Soompi.

In all honesty, I was expecting Twice to win Song of the Year because "Cheer Up" was phenomenal. However, I was expecting EXO to win the Album of the Year like they always did the past years. I am not against BTS winning the award; it's just that, EXO deserved it more. Also, the Artist if the Year should have gone to Lim Chang Jung or Urban Zakapa. Those two deserve it more than EXO.

Moreover, after reading some tweets about the unfair treatment for IOI against Blackpink, I do think they were robbed off of the Rookie Award. Many are expecting that Blackpink will win on MAMA so they were expecting that MMA will give it to IOI. That is not what happened. Blackpink won and people are now complaining because they don't think they deserved it because of the lack of promotions. I don't know if I am the only one who thinks like this but I think MNET will give MAMA's rookie girl group award to IOI because they came from "Produce 101".

Additionally, I feel like MMA was trying to please all the fans so they could rake in more money. Another proof of that is Ikon winning a non-existent award. First of all, I do not hate IKON. However, the fact that they did not even promote this year is such a bs. Another mess that happened was Wonder Girls not being in the top 10. Wonder Girls did really well with "Why So Lonely" that they deserve to be in the top 10.

Winner, I think, by far, is the most pitiful one in this event. Just imagine being in a company that doesn't treat you equally like how they treat their other artists. Imagine how awful they feel right now. As we all know, YG Entertainment loves IKON so much that he opted for them to attend MMA rather than Winner who released a song this year.

Furthermore, about the performances, I do not really have anything against it, I like the performances; I just wanted Bolppalgan and AkMu to perform. It was such a waste that they were there and did not perform. They could have lessened IKON's performance and give at least three minutes each to the two duo groups.

In many translated articles on Netizen Buzz, not only international fans were upset but also Korean fans. They thought that the award was poorly executed. Now, many fans are afraid that MAMA might be worst as MMA is (was) considered a fair awards show.

Let's just all hope that MAMA will step up their game after the MMA mess.
