‘Sweet Stranger and Me’ tries to exploit main character to recapture lost viewers

“Sweet Stranger and Me” continues to have low vierwership ratings. KBS begins to develop the drama's characters to recover its lost viewers. Hong Na-Ri is the main focus of the character.

In the sixth week of “Sweet Stranger and Me” KBS tries to focus on Na-Ri to regain its lost viewers. The drama was unable to recover from its significant drop in the viewership rating after a relatively good start.

In the promotional image for the Episode 11 and 12, which aired on November 28 and 29, KBS released pictures of Na-Ri, which shows Park Soo-Ae in one of the scenes as shown below:

Acclaimed award winning actress Park Soo-Ae, or more familiarly known as Soo-Ae is cast to play Na-Ri. The winner of the 41st Baeksang Arts Awards as Best New Actress in her debut film “Family” in 2005 is expected to give a cutting edge to the drama. 

“Sweet Stranger and Me” is her second romantic comedy drama after the 2007 MBC drama “Two Outs in the Ninth Inning,” which revolves around the story of a baseball player. Afterward, Soo-Ae spent three years of career to play in the movie, before decided to return to television drama in 2010 espionage drama “Athena: Goddess of War.” The drama is the spin-off of the successful espionage drama “Iris” and recorded as one of the most expensive drama ever produced in Korea.

Her popularity is expected to lift the ratings, which has reached the lowest point, but audience need more time before they regain their interest. According to JTBC News, “Sweet Stranger and Me” Episode 11 aired on Monday Nov. 28 was only able to get 4.3% of viewership based on the AGB Nielsen Korea. It only regain 0.4% of the last week’s Episode 10.
