Call it the tears of a clown.

South Korean comedian Yoo Se Yoon and High Syde's Muzi form the two-man joke band UV, which has been compared to American hip hop parody act Lonely Island.

But on UV's newest single, "Because Of You" featuring Sung Hoon of Brown Eyed Soul, the group is not afraid to show their softer side, with some interesting results.

Although "Because of You" is clearly a ballad, complete with lyrics like "I picked you out. You are mine. I want to marry you," the song and the music video accompanying it still remain tongue-in-cheek.

Early on in the song Yoo Se Yoon even compares a girl to a comfy sofa, which certainly keeps things from moving into melodramatic territory.

Yoo Se Yoon employs a Psy-like indifference throughout the clip, an entertaining angle that you wouldn't expect in the music video for a ballad.

But moving away from the video, which let's just say has an interesting twist at the end, musically there is distinct originality in UV's "Because of You."

For starters it's a lot faster than you would expect from a ballad and the beat looms large in the mix.

Yoo Se Yoon's rapping and singing is in a lower register than you normally hear in K-pop, which instantly gives the song a distinctive quality.

His rap in the middle of "Because of You," complete with DMX-style dog barks is undoubtedly the song's best moment.

But the singing is solid as well, and the hook is infectious.

Although the song only debuted at number 42 on the Billboard Magazine K-Pop Hot 100 this week, it is sure to see a jump next week.

"Because of You," is a light, fun song for the springtime.

But this reviewer can't help but wonder what Yoo Se Yoon would sound like working on a serious, hardcore hip hop album.

If he worked with an A-List producer like the RZA or Dr. Dre, the results could be explosive.

Whether or not you get the jokes or not, Yoo Se Yoon has got an original sounding flow which could also work well in a context outside UV.
