CJ E&M and MPAA Host 'Spotlight on Korean Cinema' in Washington DC

CJ E&M and MPAA have come together to hold the 'Spotlight on Korean Cinema' event in Washington D.C. 

This event took place yesterday and many politicians such as Christopher J. Dodd, Mike Honda and others attended the event. 

This event was held specifically to show Korean films to these well known politicians.

President of the World Bank and ambassador of the Republic of Korea also attended the event to help promote the global status of Korean films.

At the event, they played a move screening of the movie, "Masquerade," featuring actor Lee Byun Hun, who was also at the event.

After the movie was over, the audience gave a standing ovation as they praised the director and the actors amazing performance.

Christopher Dodd, Chairman and CEO of MPAA stated, "Korean movies have grown over time and has been bringing in new content to the American film industry. We hope that Korean movies can become another global pop culture."

He also stated hat he was amazed to see companies such as CJ E&M serving to promote exchanges between Korea and the U.S. as well.

This event was held to strengthen and create a understanding of the film industry in Korea.

Tae Sung Jeong, head of CJ E&M Pictures division also commented that they have been working very hard to globalized Korean movies.
