Why Gwyneth Paltrow And Coldplay's Chris Martin Were Desperate For A Photo With Psy: 'Our Son Is Obsessed With Him' Actress Says [PHOTOS]

Gwyneth Paltrow discussed her 7-year-old son Moses's obsession with Psy on the Australian radio show 'Kyle and Jackie O Show,' the website NZCIty reported on Wednesday.

Patrow and her husband Coldplay frontman Chris Martin met Psy at a Met Gala coinciding with the opening for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute's exhibition "PUNK: Chaos to Couture" held last week in New York City.

"Our son is obsessed with him,"Paltrow said. "So Chris sees him and says, 'Oh my God, there's Psy.' I thought it was P.S.Y., so I was like, 'Who's Psy?'"

Attempting to impress their 7-year-old son, and 8-year daughter Apple, also a Psy fan, Martin and Paltrow made their move and introduced themselves to the King K-pop.

But apparently fronting one of the biggest bands in U.S. pop rock doesn't mean much as far as face recognition goes from Psy.

The Oppa appeared initially unimpressed by the Coldplay frontman, according to Paltrow.

"So we went up and Chris was like, 'Hello, I'm from the band Coldplay'. PSY didn't seem to know who he was," she said.

But the Oppa quickly warmed up to one of the world's most famous couples.

"Then he put it together and he was really happy to meet Chris," Paltrow recalled.
"We said, 'We're so sorry to bother you but can we have a picture for our children?' And we sent it to the kids, like, 'Yeah, check it!'"

Psy tweeted photos posing with Martin and Paltrow at the Met event with the line "Making new friends at the Met Gala, Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin."

The star of the "Iron Man" franchise called meeting Psy the highlight of an otherwise fairly unbearable night.

"Do you want me to be honest?" Paltrow said when asked about attending the star-studded event also attended by pop icons Madonna and Beyonce.

"It sucked. It seems like the best thing in the world. You always think this is going to be so glamorous and amazing and you'll see all these people. But you get there, it's so hot, it's so crowded, everyone is pushing you... This year it was so intense, it wasn't fun."

Paltrow said things at the Met Gala reached a low point when featured performer, rapper Kanye West had what appeared to be a meltdown on stage.

"Kanye West was playing, he was furious. He threw his microphone down - I don't know why. It was all drama."

Kanye appeared in a studded, bejeweled mask and "started screaming," an insider told the New York Post.

"He played all new tracks that no one knew from his new album, and none of the crowd favorites," the insider said. "His songs were basically screeching into the microphone.
