Minzy Reveal Solo Career Plans After Leaving 2NE1

2NE1 said their farewells with their final song "Goodbye" released few days ago. Former member Minzy decided to leave 2NE1 prior to the YG Entertainment CEO making the decision to disband the group. Minzy did not renew her contract with the agency in the hopes of pursuing a solo career as a singer.

According to previous reports, former 2NE1 member Minzy was the first to leave the famous girl group and opted against renewing her contract with YG Entertainment. Losing Minzy, YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk decided that 2NE1 can continue in the music industry as a trio. As Minzy started to move toward the solo career she dreams of, 2NE1 member Park Bom got involved ith a drug scandal, which led to the group's ultimate disbandment.

After releasing the 2NE1 farewell song "Goodbye," Minzy is now getting started on taking off with her solo career. PopCrush reports that the 23-year-old ex-2NE1 member was attended in a recent V-app session and revealed some interesting bits about her new career. Minzy said that all the effort she put into pursuing this solo career will be shown to the world before summer.

AllKpop reports that Minzy will face everyone with her new album during the first half of 2017. Apparently, the young singer signed with Music Works after leaving YG Entertainment. Supposedly, Minzy should have made her solo debut in November. However, the lack of the right lead song to mark her debut was not quite ready at the time.

Moreover, Minzy is set to take an interesting role in the soundtrack for the new MBC drama "Rebel: Thief Who Stole The People." Apparently, the former 2NE1 member will be singing a ballad titled "I Wanted To Love." Some suspect that this may be the singer's debut song as a solo artist since it would be the first she will release since leaving 2NE1.

In addition, another gig lined up for Minzy is a confirmed role in the second season of "Sister's Slam Dunk." The K-reality series will apparently cast Minzy along with Jeon So Mi in February. While Minzy is busy taking care of her new solo career, another 2NE1 member is also gearing up for her life after 2NE1. Sandara Park has a new TV show to host as well as an acting project int he Web-Drama "Dr. Mo Clinic."
