KBS News Anchor Apologizes For BTS And EXO Comparison

The world wide web was recently bombarded with violent reactions from fans of BTS and EXO after seeing the statement of KBS news anchor, Park Young Hwan, where he compared the two boy groups. The said anchor recently released an official apology through his SNS account.

According to All Kpop, the anchor stated that the boy group BTS is becoming more popular than another boy group, EXO, which enraged fans from all over the world. The said statement aired on KBS' "Listen to It from the Candidate," a show dedicated to knowing some of South Korea's influential politicians.

In his official Facebook page, Park Young Hwan apologized for his comment on the show. He then explained that since he was interviewing Governor Ahn on the show about a heavy and serious topic, he tried to lighten up the mood by using two of the hottest boy groups in Korea as a reference for debate.

The KBS news anchor also further imparted that he never meant to hurt the two boy groups on his remark in the show. He also revealed that he was actually fan of EXO where he actually attended one of the boy group's concerts in USA.

Moreover, the comparison between BTS and EXO has a long history to date. The two boy groups have been competing in the same category during music award shows just like in last year's Mnet Asian Music Awards and the Asian Artist Awards, according to Soompi.

Despite the rivalry in the music scene, BTS and EXO have been transparent about their friendship. In actual fact, the two groups showed support during music shows where they dance and sing to each other's songs. Another fun fact about the two groups is that they also treat each other as brothers where some of their members can even pass as brothers in real life just like BTS' V and EXO's Baekhyun who really look alike.
