Actress Gillian Anderson, best known as FBI Special Agent Dana Scully on the popular TV show, "The X-Files," recently did an "Ask Me Anything" (AMA) forum on Reddit, where fans could literally ask Gillian Anderson anything at all, and she would answer.

Not only did Reddit users ask Gillian Anderson about "The X-Files" and her current role on NBC's "Hannibal," one user asked whether Anderson considered herself to be a feminist. "Regarding feminism, I think it's complicated but I appreciate how much my work has inspired women and how much women inspire me," she said.

"Anytime that a woman stands in front of me and says that they (because of Scully) decided to become a forensic pathologist, or a scientist, my heart skips a beat," she continued. Anderson is a big advocate for women following their own dreams in life, instead of following a man paving his own road.

For about an hour, thousands of comments flooded the website, which most people would find overwhelming. However, Anderson maintained her poise and tried to answer as many questions within the constricted time frame as she could.

When Anderson was asked if there was a particular moment when she realized that "The X-Files" was going to be a hit primetime show, she responded with, "I think there was a moment, maybe in the 3rd season is when it started to hit me. I don't know about iconic, but I started to realize that I needed to hold onto my seat."

She also made down-to-earth comments about her philosophical takes on life. "The truth is in all of us, no matter what truth we're talking about, whether it's about having integrity in your life and being willing to admit mistakes and tell the truth under all circumstances, or whether it's trying to track down the truth in political mumbo-jumbo, or whether we're talking about the truth of whether there are aliens on this planet. It all comes from the same place."

Some comments weren't even questions, just public notes of admiration for the talented star.
