Joining Vin Diesel in Manila were co-stars Michelle Rodriguez, Gina Carano and Luke Evans. It is the first time the Philippines is hosting a Hollywood film premier.

"Mahal ko kayo. I love Manila. I love you all so much. We are so proud to do the first Hollywood premiere [of the franchise] here in the Philippines," said Vin Diesel.

"I can feel the love from you. I think this is the best place I've ever been to in my life," Vin Diesel added, talking to reporters and fans.

“Fast and Furious 6” producer Neil Moritz was also in the country for the reception.

Moritz said, “Who knows, someday we may shoot here.”

The film producer enjoyed the food in the Philippines, calling it the best cuisine he ever tasted.

Meanwhile, Luke Evans serenaded the crowd with a few lines of the popular Philippine ballad, “Kailangan Kita”, which has immediately endeared him to a people known for their love of karaoke.

Evans learned how to sing the Tagalog song when he visited the country almost a decade ago.

He said he also has a lot of Filipino friends who were part of the musical “Miss Saigon” in London, where a lot of Asian characters were played by Filipino performers.

He said he even met with some of his Filipino friends as soon as he arrived in Manila Tuesday night.

Rodriguez echoed her co-stars’ sentiments, declaring “I love you Manila, I just love you, you are so beautiful.”

After the meet and greet, selected members of the Philippine entertainment media watched the premiere, which was sponsored by GBX in partnership with Solar Entertainment.

“Fast and Furious 6” is scheduled to hit theaters May 24, following its international release. The action film is the sixth installment of the “Fast and Furious” film series. The 2013 movie was written by Chris Morgan and directed by Justin Lin. The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Michelle Rodriguez, Sung Kang, Chris Bridges, Luke Evans, Gina Carano, and John Ortiz.
