K-Con Kicks-Off in Mexico City in 10 Days! Adds Australia to Their Travel Plan

Good news for K-pop fans in the land down under! K-Con will be heading to Australia this September! No exact date and venue has been confirmed, however.

According to Koreaboo, this will be K-Con's first trip to Australia since the convention's inception in 2012.There is, however, no exact date and venue provided at this time.

But what is "K-Con"? "K-Con" is an annual and global convention that showcases Korea's pop music and their culture as well. It is somehow similar to gaming conventions where game producers show-off their games in the gaming industry.

The annual K-Con started in 2012, and was a brainchild by Koreaboo. Koreaboo then partnered with entertainment agency CJ E&M.

"Through KCON, we will lead the efforts in nurturing the 'K-life style' as a future growth engine," said CJ E&M' music content division Shin Hyung-kwan. K-Con has garnered more than 350,000 K-pop fans during its 5-year run.

Over the years, K-Con has expanded not only in South Korea but to other countries as well, such as in the United States, France, Japan, and even in Saudi Arabia. It was also announced recently that K-Con will also be holding their convention in Mexico City; making it the seventh country (including Australia) the global festival has expanded into.

According to Yoonhap News, K-Con will officially kick-off in Mexico City. The convention will last for two days starting in March 17.

The K-Con in Mexico City will see performances from the hottest K-pop musicians. BTS will also be performing in the 2-day convention in Mexico City, as well as EXID and Red Velvet.

K-Con will then be in Japan on May 19-21. The next leg will be held on June 23-24 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey and on Aug. 18-20 at the LA Convention Center in Los Angeles, C.A.
