Despite her efforts of practicing all night for her singing test, Somi failed to reach her voice mentor's expectations. In the most recent episode of "Sister's Slam Dunk Season 2", Somi cried her frustrations.

In "Unnie's Slam Dunk", K-pop idols are required to do intense voice lessons, trainings, and as well as tests to help them qualify to be in a girl group. In the show's recent episode, it was Somi's turn to be graded.

Somi was told to sing a part of their debut song to be titled "Am I Right". Somi didn't have problems singing most parts of the song.

However, when the song's climactic parts came in, Somi sang them in her false voice, or falsetto. Somi nails the part perfectly most of the time she practices.

Somi was then stopped in the middle of her performance by her voice coach Jang Jin Young. Somi was however, given another chance by Jin Young, instructing her to sing the song just like they have practiced.

The former I.O.I member gave it another go. When the music started, Somi was already feeling nervous and looked like she was about to start crying.

Again, Somi started the song very well. However, Somi's nervousness got to her causing her voice to do a falsetto again.

Producer Kim Hyeon Seok then gave Somi in her singing. The producer specifically said that Somi should sing more confidently to perfectly execute the song's higher notes.

Somi then began to start crying. Her older members from the group immediately rushed to her side to wipe her tears away.

Some then stated that she was disappointed in herself. She practiced all night and even sent voice messages to her voice coach Jin Young.

Coach Jin Young also expressed his disappointment, especially to himself. Mainly because he was not able to help Somi overcome her fear of using her powerful voice.

In other news, Somi recently appeared in a special episode of "Produce 101 Season 2". According to Soompi, Somi appeared on the April 7 episode of the show.

On the show, Somi also appeared with her former I.O.I members Choi Yoo Jung and Kim Sohye. Voice coach from Season 1 Bae Yoon Jung also appeared on the special episode.
