K-Pop Artists, 'I'd Rather Be Top 10 For a Month Than Number One For a Week'

With music charts going on roller coaster rides every hour these days, musicians are starting to look for steadiness in their rankings rather than the number one spot which has been slipping away as quickly as it arrived.

The quick turnaround of top 10 rankings on music charts is so prevalent that a week of consistent rankings is considered a long run.

Due to such fickle trend in music charts, musicians themselves are beginning to change their perspective and goals for their albums. Much more preferred nowadays is staying around the top 10 list for as long as possible. The period when every artist making a comeback used to declare taking the top spot on music shows his or her goal is now over.

Seo In Young, who recently held a showcase for her new mini album, commented, "It would be nice to get first place but more than that I would like to stay near the top 10 for an extended period of time so that many will be exposed to my new style of music. Because rankings change so rapidly these days, I do not think the number one spot carries as much meaning as it once did."

Idol groups have shared a similar sentiment. B1A4 and SECRET stated that what is most important is reaching the public with their music, not getting to the number one spot.
