Man fatally shot by FBI agent knew Boston bombing suspect, friend says

According to a friend of the victim, the man who has fatally shot by an FBI agent in Florida yesterday knew one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. According to published reports, the unidentified federal agent was conducting official duties when he encountered the man.

According to a friend of the victim, the man who was fatally shot by the FBI agent knew Tamerlan Tsarnaev, 26, one of the brothers who is suspected in the April 15 bombings of the Boston Marathon. The bombings left three dead and injured more than 260 people.

Khusen Taramov told the investigators that he and his friend had no connection with the domestic terror incident that happened in Boston, but that his friend knew Tsarnaev. Talking about his friend, Taramov said "He used to talk on the phone with him [Tsarnaev]." They talked last time a month ago. After bombing, I couldn't believe it. The FBI kept asking, 'What's the connection?' But there is no connection ... no connection."

Taramov said the victim of yesterday’s shooting indicated that he had planned to return to Chechnya, but canceled his tickets. Taramov said “Me and him and my friends we knew this was going to happen. That's why he wanted to leave the country. But he canceled the tickets. The FBI's been pushing him, 'Don't leave, don't leave.' So he decided to stay.”

Taramov said that the FBI had questioned him earlier in the day but was allowed to leave. When Taramov came back, he learned that his friend had been shot dead. He said "The FBI knows what happened.”
