Melissa and Joey Preview: ABC Family Hit Coming To TV Screens On May 29

Melissa and Joey, the ABC Family hit series is coming back to the network for its third season and premieres on May 29. The successful comedy series is executive-produced by its two major stars, Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence.

The premiere episode, coming next Wednesday, as part of ABC Family’s New Comedy Wednesdays, entitled “Works for Me” we see Joe pursue a new job opportunity, sending Mel into a panic when she realizes he may actually leave. But the job isn’t quite what Joe expected it to be, which causes the former financial exec-turned-manny to reevaluate his place in the house and Mel’s scheming to prove how much everyone needs him. Lennox, on the other hand, thinks that her artist boyfriend Zander, may have found another muse, and Ryder’s class trip has an unexpected outcome.

Melissa and Joey” stars Melissa Joan Hart, Joey Lawrence, Taylor Spreitler and Nick Robinson, and is executive-produced by Bob Young & David Kendall, Paula Hart, Melissa Joan Hart and Joey Lawrence. Guest stars for the premiere episode, “Works for Me” include Sterling Knight and Hayley Erin, plus an appearance by “OMG Insider” hosts Thea Andrews and Kevin Frazier.

After the premier episode, we see Melissa and Joey both happy in their new relationships, until they discover that they are dating a divorced couple. Soon, they are fighting over custody of the ex-couple’s son, and all the action that ensues during and after the custody battle can be seen on the new episodes airing every Wednesday (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT) entitled “Toxic Parents.”

Meanwhile, Lennox decides to get a tattoo after her boyfriend Zander (featuring guest star Sterling Knight) forbids her. And Ryder is surprised to find that he actually misses school.

The original television series first aired on ABC Family on August 17, 2010.

Melissa and Joey was then renewed by ABC Family for a second season of fifteen episodes, which began airing on May 30, 2012 and ended on August 29, 2012. The series ranks as cable television’s #1 telecast at 8 o'clock across target audiences 18–34, 18–49 and 12–34 demographics.

The cable network renewed its third season last August 17, 2012.
