Morgan Freeman Responds On Facebook 'Just Testing Google Eyelids' After Falling Asleep During Live Movie Interview [Video, Pic, Gif]

Morgan Freeman famously fell asleep during a live interview with Seattle's Fox Q13 station while promoting Now You See Me with Michael Caine.

But the actor responded on Facebook today saying he was just "a beta tester for Google Eyelids."

In the Freeman-Caine interview, Caine lets it slip after they're done that it was their last interview of the day.

A visibly exhausted Freeman sat next to Michael Caine while they began discussing the new magic thriller, and first his eyes close.

Then they close, and stayed closed, and his head drops to near his chest.

While Caine talks about the plot and working with "real" magicians, like David Copperfield, Freeman took a nap.

When Morgan's head droops down like a Grandpa asleep in his La-Z-Boy, it's obvious to most viewers that he's completely asleep.

But the head drop wakes Freeman back up, and when the interviewers asked him about narrating film, he was lucid, if groggy and gave a short answer.

"It's really just about knowing how to read."

Freeman recovered from the impromptu on-camera nap, but he was stumbling a bit when he finally got asked the narrating question.

Freeman's droopy eyelids went viral as everyone was talking about his little nap on camera.

But the actor responded on his Facebook page today, writing "Regarding my recent interview, I wasn't actually sleeping. I'm a beta tester for Google Eyelids and I was merely taking the opportunity to update my Facebook page."

Then the 75-year-old actor plugged his appearance on The Daily Show Show last night, where he ended up talking about multiple universes.

The adroitness of the actor on Jon Stewart's comedy central show should negate any ill will Freeman's nap earlier in the week might have engendered.

Plus, it's pretty hilarious Freeman joked about beta testing "Google Eyelids."
