Son Ho Young Tries To Kill Himself The Same Way His Girlfriend Did: G.O.D. Singer Pulled From His Car After Igniting Its Interior

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. on Friday morning, G.O.D. singer Son Ho Young sat in his car in a public parking lot in Seoul, South Korea and lit a coal briquette, allegedly attempting to commit suicide from breathing in the poisonous fumes.

The star, who had also reportedly taken an overdose of sleeping pills, was pulled from the car after a passing pedestrian saw him and promptly alerted emergency personnel.

According to Kpopfighting.com, the smoldering briquette had produced thick smoke inside of Son Ho Young's car, causing the interior of the vehicle to ignite.

Son is currently receiving treatment for his injuries at Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital.

"Son Ho Young will need to be hospitalized for two to four days," read a statement on Friday from the singer's management, according to allkpop.

"Although there is no damage to his health, he is in a very fragile state of mind and needs to find stability."

Three days earlier, the lifeless body of the singer's girlfriend was found in a car belonging to the singer, which had been parked illegally for nearly a week near Apgujeong's Misung Apartment Complex in the Seoul's Gangnam District.

The singer's girlfriend reportedly killed herself in the same manner.

On Wednesday, the National Forensic Service ruled the cause of her death to be gas poisoning, according to the website Soompi.

Gangnam Police had already declared the death to likely be self-inflicted after "a briquette, an empty bottle of sleeping pills and a suicide note was discovered in the car."

"Specific final results will take about one to two weeks more but as it was suspected, it seems the deceased committed suicide," a police official said following the girl's autopsy results.

"The investigation is virtually over."

Son Ho Young's girlfriend's funeral was held on Wednesday in Seoul Memorial Park. The singer reportedly spent the day with the deceased's family.

The sign of solidarity comes following reports that the girl's family was screaming at the K-pop singer at the Gangnam police station where he was being questioned on Tuesday night, after police found his girlfriend's body in his Kia Carnival.

The family was later seen leaving the police station in a taxi with Son Ho Young's manager.

The Korean publications Sports Hosun and Sports Chosun revealed several lines of what their reporters claim is the Son's girlfriend's suicide note.

"I had a lot of worries because of debt," she allegedly wrote. "I feel disappointed by Son Ho Young."

The couple had reportedly been dating for a year.

"With Son Ho Young's album production, the couple had little fights, but nothing big that could have led to this incident," a representative for the singer told CJ E&M enewsWorld on Wednesday.

"Son Ho Young is in great shock because he never imagined anything like this could happen."

The K-pop star's alleged suicide attempt comes in the wake of reports on Wednesday that he had cancelled all professional obligations, including a two-week stint hosting the radio show "Two O'Clock Date" and an appearance on the South Korean sitcom "Pure Love," because he is too distraught to work.

"Son Ho Young has been badly affected by this whole incident, and will halt all activities for the time being," the singer's rep said.
