BTS Brings Home the Bacon for the 16th Time for “Boy With Luv”

BTS, or also called as Bangtan Sonyeondan, earns their sixteenth trophy on MBC's Music Core for the lead single entitled "Boy With Luv" that features American artist Halsey, who has been a fan of the boy band since 2017.

On June 1, 2019, in an MBC's Music Core episode, BTS' "Boy With Luv" won over Davichi's "Unspoken Words" and JANNABI's "For Lovers Who Hesitate." Davichi took the third place with 5,191 points, and JANNABI came off second-best with 5,263 points.

Bangtan Sonyeondan received total points of 8,247, signifying their 16th win for their single and their sixth consecutive win on Music Core. Hats off to BTS for having such an achievement!

BTS winning several trophies in different music television program broadcasts in South Korea for "Boy With Luv" only shows how the song captured many hearts with its funky, upbeat cut. The music video for this song presents how BTS celebrates the act of falling in love. And according to a press release, "Boy With Luv" is "about how love and real strength come from finding happiness in the smallest things in life."

Aside from gaining awards, the boy group set a new record for fastest viewed video on YouTube for "Boy With Luv," having 74.6 million views within 24 hours upon its release on 12th of April this year. Eventually, it then became the first ever video to garner 100 million views in approximately one day and 10 hours.

On top of that, the group made history in America, making it to the number 8 spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Their song became the highest charting single by a Kpop group, and the highest charting single for BTS.

As of May 4, 2019, Bangtan Sonyeondan began their world tour "Love Yourself: Speak Yourself" at Rose Bowl in Los Angeles. Throughout May, the boys performed at Soldier Field in Chicago, MetLife Stadium in New Jersey/New York City and East Rutherford, and at Allianz Parque in San Paulo, Brazil. In the first two days of June, they are to perform at the legendary Wembley Stadium in London.

On June 7, they will meet their fans at Stade De France in Paris. Then in July, they will be stopping by in Japan, specifically in Osaka and Shizuoka.
