Grand Line Concert of Lay Zhang Was Sold Out In A Minute

Tickets for EXO member Lay Zhang's first concert "Grand Line" in its Shanghai stop sold out in just eight seconds that even he himself could not book a ticket.

In a live video, the "China's Sheep" was seen attempting to score a ticket for himself but to no avail. What was worse was that he could not even get in the queue for tickets in spite of refreshing the ticketing page multiple times.

"Traffic ahead? But I clicked earlier. I clicked just now!" The EXO member exclaimed, expressing disbelief.

"What does this mean? What does it mean successful registration? What kind of operation is this? It's all sold out. It's not a matter of seconds, I didn't even get in!" Lay added.

Shortly after, Lay posted a message to his fans on his Weibo page.

"If the tickets are all sold out at the last few concert stops and there are still fans that weren't able to get their tickets, I will consider adding stops," Lay wrote.

"I'd rather have empty seats at the concert venue than making my fans spend innocent money to buy from scalpers. Thank you for everyone's support. I will go ahead and continue with my practice," he added.

The "Grand Line" concert series will kick-start at Mercedes-Benz Arena in Shanghai on July 6, 2019.

On May 31, the concert's Nanjing stop commenced its tickets pre-selling and got sold out in a matter of seconds once again. According to Global Times, all the tickets vended were booked in just 25 seconds this time around.

The idol-actor took to his Weibo page afterwards to make the announcement.

"Nanjing stop presale sold out in 25 seconds! Thank you for everyone's attention and support. See you in Nanjing on July 20," Lay said.

Meanwhile, it didn't come as no surprise to many as to why Lay Zhang's concerts sold out so fast. After all, he is a member of the Korean-Chinese supergroup EXO who has broken records three times and currently the leading act to have sold out concert tickets quick-"EXO Planet #1: The Lost Planet" in 1.47 seconds, "EXO Planet #2 - The EXO'luXion" in 0.4 seconds, and  EXO Planet #4 - The EℓyXiOn in 0.2 seconds.

Further, it's also rightful to consider Lay's immense popularity in China, not to mention that he has gained international recognition in the last quarter of 2018 and having attended the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in February this year.
