The funeral for 29-year-old comedian Ham Hyo Joo was held at St. Mary's Hospital in Seoul, South Korea on Monday.

Comedians Uhm Yong Su, Ko Myung Hwan and actors Sohn Hun Su, Jung Sung Ho and Oh Jung Tae were among those in attendance, according to the website Soompi.

Ham died early Saturday morning, following a business dinner. The comedian was crossing the street in Seoul, in an attempt to hail a cab.

"Ham Hyo Joo [was struck by a car] while she was crossing the street in the early morning hours of June 8," a Youngdeungpo Traffic Police representative told the Korea Star Daily. 

The comedian was rushed to the hospital, but it was too late.

"She passed away at about 7 a.m. on the morning of June 8, due to a severe loss of blood."

After hearing news of the accident, several of Ham's fellow comedians rushed to her bedside, according to the website allkpop.

"Fellow comedians are on their way to the hospital," a representative for the actress said on Saturday morning.

"Because her death was caused by a car accident, there is still further investigation to carry out by the police."

The star of the Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation (MBC) program "Fall Into Comedy," Ham got her start in the entertainment business after securing a role on a different MBC program "If You Laugh, Blessings Will Come Your Way."

Appearances on the television programs "Gag," and "Laugh and Laugh" soon followed for the comedian, who graduated from the Seoul Institute Of The Arts.

Ham Hyo Joo fan Jypnationbaby2 is devastated by the loss of the comedian that died so young.

"This is terrible," Jypnationbaby2 wrote on the allkpop message board on Monday. "Condolences, may your soul rest in peace."

K-pop fan Exoshineesuju agrees Ham's death is a tragedy.

"This is so awful and tragic," Exoshineesuju wrote.

"And she was so young too. May she rest in peace. My condolences go out to her friends and family."

Fan Nichkhungugna commented on Soompi that we should all try to learn from the comedian's tragic death.

"Some people want to end with their life, [for others it is] taken so suddenly," Nichkhungugna wrote. "Don't waste your life. It's too short. May she rest in peace."
