100%, 'We Want To Be Like Shinhwa'

100% is a 7-membered idol that debuted last September with "We, 100%" and very much still a rookie. They have returned with "Want U Back," changing their style 180 degrees.

"We didn't take a long break but it was still unsettling to be off stage and not actively making media appearances. Many teams debuted in our absence, so we were a bit worried that we might be forgotten. We wanted to come back as soon as possible and remind our fans what we do best," said 100%.

100% certainly came back different. First, they all returned with sculpted bodies to spearhead their theme of 'sexy' in this album. Ripping off their shirts during their comeback performance, 100% did not wait to show the fans what they worked on during their hiatus. Bulging biceps, tight abs, strong backs and shoulders, the list goes on. "Even Shinhwa members complimented us on our fitness. Especially, Kim Dong Wan told us we did well," said 100%.

Of course, such primitive-yet-effective approach in highlighting masculinity has been done many times before, most notably by 2PM which acquired their nickname 'beastly idols' from their rugged musculature. 100% understands that it is not simply about looking the part, with ripped bodies.

"We still have a lot of other looks to show. This hyper-macho appearance is just one of them," said 100%.

Asked about their long-term goals, 100% answered, "We would love to receive New Artist of the Year award but we are seeking for a steady, long run in K-pop rather than something quick and fast. To pick our role model, it is Shinhwa. We would like to follow in their footsteps and continue to be relevant and beloved after many years. We want to be remembered as the group that overflows with energy."
