Almost a year ago Psy released the hit song "Gangnam Style," the single that brought him to international fame and thrust Korean pop music into the limelight, but he still has yet to see the financial profits from it.

Psy says he is still waiting to receive his royalties check for "Gangnam Style" from Universal Republic Records, the company that released the song.

"Collecting money from more than 100 countries with iTunes and publishing and everything takes a long time," the Korean star said in an interview with radio station Kiss FM in England last week. "I'm still waiting right now."

This does not mean Psy is broke, however.

Since "Gangnam Style made him popular the world over, Psy has made numerous television appearances and endorsement deals, keeping things more than comfortable for him and his family.

But a year does seem like an awfully long time to wait, especially considering Psy is already making headlines and with his sophomore single "Gentleman."

And as he pleaded in the interview, "Universal! Universal! I'm still waiting!"
