Kim Soo Ro Reinjures Shoulder While Participating In Another 'Real Men' Mock Training Session: Actor To Receive Surgery In Near Future

Apparently, being a real man comes at a price.

Actor Kim Soo Ro injured his shoulder for the second time on the set of the South Korean reality show "Real Men" this week, because he couldn't stand to watch his army buddies going through the training without him.

Kim had originally decided to sit out the army training simulated for Sunday's "Real Men," complaining that he couldn't even lift his hand above his head.

But when he joined in anyway, he reportedly injured himself while squatting down and was rushed to the emergency room.

"He needs to get surgery," Kim's doctor told the website Soompi.

"There are serious punctures and inflammation. It is very critical."

On Wednesday the actor took to Twitter to reassure his fans that he was okay.

"I don't know how to say it, but I'm about 80 percent recovered," Kim wrote in an extended post.

"Articles keep being published as opposed to my intentions. Although I want to receive surgery as quickly as possible, I need to match my doctor's schedule too. This isn't an emergency operation. I just need to receive physical therapy and it won't set me back that much from my schedule."

The 43-year-old actor told his fans not to worry.

"I visited several hospitals," he wrote. "My body is in good shape now. I'm sleeping well too so please don't worry too much."

Kim originally injured his shoulder back in May at a military training exercise staged for a previous "Real Men" episode.

"Kim Soo Ro was injured during the guerrilla training," one of the show's producers told allkpop.

"It's not serious, but his safety is the most important, so we moved him to the hospital right away."

The producer claimed Kim couldn't wait to get back to filming.

"Even though he's injured, he's back on set to film. He's still filming. You'll see the details on broadcast."

Earlier this month, weeks before the aggravated his shoulder injury, a representative from his management company SM Culture & Contents had released a statement that Kim was going to undergo back surgery for a longstanding shoulder injury.

"Kim Soo Ro's shoulder surgery has been confirmed," the rep said.

"Even though he will go through surgery, he will not be leaving 'Real Men'. The filming date is likely to be determined following his surgery and outlook."

No word yet on when the surgery is happening.
