Newsweek Deems 2NE1 and Aziatix Newsworthy In America And Japan

2NE1 and Aziatix were recognized this week in a big way. Big as in American and Japanese “Newsweek” featured the idols. Yoon Mirae was also part of the praised group of kpop stars. The title of the article, title ‘Korean Hip-Hop: K-Hop Goes Global’ really made this one world news.

The article itself covered mostly khop and it’s forecast for the future. Billboard’sofficial, Rob Schwarts (manager of the Tokyo branch) told the press, “Currently American pop music is greatly affected by R&B, and Korean hip-hop is also greatly affected by a soulful R&B never seen before in the Korean music of the past. Aziatix is hip-hop in itself, with its edgy and state of the art sounds.

Another person lending information to this feature was Jae Chong (Jung Jae Yun), the man credited for bringing Aziatix to the forefront of kpop. He stated, ’2NE1 is blazing a trail in the Western part of the world, as it won the best girl group award at the 2011 allkpop awards, hosted by the American K-Pop portal site Allkpop, on January 26, and the group was also chosen by MTV Iggy as the Best New Band in the World. 2NE1 even found its way into MTV Iggy’s list of ‘10 International Collaborations That Blew Our Minds in 2011’ and MTV Style’s ‘Top 12 Girls to Watch in 2012’. He contuned by letting reporters know that it is more difficult to make it in kpop if you are born overseas. Way to go Aziatix.

One last think—2NE1 was on the list of ‘10 International Collaborations That Blew Our Minds in 2011’ and MTV Style’s ‘Top 12 Girls to Watch in 2012’. Way to go ladies.
