K-Pop Mixtape: Happy Canada Day!
July 1 is Canada Day - a day when Canadians across the world celebrate their patriotism and love for their motherland.
And, on a day when we are all thinking about Canada and her people - it is nice to celebrate those K-Pop idols who were either born or raised in the country, or at least spent significant time there.
Just who exactly are these Canadian K-Poppers?
Solo singer G.Na was born in Canada, as was Sera of Nine Muses - both are Korean-Canadians. Idols Kris (EXO-M) and Henry (Super Junior-M) also call Canada home.
Both Clazziquai's Alex Chu and Epik High's Tablo spent a decent chunk of time in Canada as well - and while they don't hold Canadian citizenship, Canada undoubtedly holds a special place in their hearts.
G.Na (feat. Huh Gak) - "Mind Sync" (2013) Beautiful Kisses
9Muses - "Wild" (2013) Wild
EXO-M - "What is Love" (2012) What is Love [single]
Henry - "Trap" (2013) Trap
Super Junior M - "Break Down" (2013) Break Down
Epik High - "Don't Hate Me" (2012) 99
Clazziquai Project - "Love Recipe" (2013) Blessed
And, just for fun - Jesse Day is a Canadian rapper who became an internet sensation a few years ago after uploading a video of himself singing speed-rapper Outsider's song "Alone." He then made several television appearances in Korea. Here is his performance with Outsider on the SBS variety talent show, Star King.
Happy Canada Day, everyone!
