Amanda Seyfried is playing the porn star Linda Lovelace, who started a movie sensation with the crossover porn hit “Deep Throat.” The new trailer for “Lovelace” is a little foreplay before it opens wide. Amanda Seyfried thanks you for the music, but she dances to a hot beat. “Deep Throat” was the 1972 adult film that changed the porn industry forever. “Lovelace” comes to theaters on August 9.

In “Lovelace” Seyfried plays the first X-rated starlet. Amanda Seyfried’s “Lovelace” trailer shows the sexy star getting down as porn sensation Linda Lovelace. Seyfried’s “Lovelace” traces the adult star from her humble beginnings to her glamorous life after she came into America’s consciousness as the woman whose clitoris was in her throat as the star of “Deep Throat.” Amanda reportedly used a popsicle in place of male genitalia during the oral sex scenes. The movie ends during Linda Lovelace’s activist days when she came clean about the sex industry that made her a household name. But sex and fame only leads to exploitation and tears.

But the critics have already spoken. Sundance said, “`Lovelace’ is a porn biopic that gets under your skin, with a revelatory performance by Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace.”

The Linda Lovelace biopic follows the brunette star from the ages 20 to 32. “Lovelace” was directed by two-time Oscar winner Rob Epstein and Oscar winner Jeffrey Friedman.

In “Lovelace,” Peter Sarsgaard plays Chuck Traynor, Lovelace’s husband and abuser. Traynor took a good girl out of a sheltered home and shows her the world. Sarsgaard played a similar part in “An Education” opposite Carey Mulligan. Adam Brody wears a skin tickling mustache as Harry Reems, Lovelace’s well-hung costar in “Deep Throat.” James Franco plays Hugh Hefner. Sharon Stone is unrecognizable as Linda's buttoned-down mother Dorothy. Chris Noth, Hank Azaria, and Bobby Cannavale all play part of Deep Throat's production team. Chloë Sevigny plays a reporter named Rebecca.

Seyfried got the role after Olivia Wilde, Lindsay Lohan, and Kate Hudson all dropped out. To prepare for the movie, the “Mean Girls” star read Lovelace's books and studied videos of her New York accent. She told ABC News in 2011, “It’s going to be really hard and kind of terrifying at the same time. I’ve read everything I can possibly read and now I just have to start physically getting into a mode. She was such a different person than what we expect. It’s a good story to tell, and I’m really, really excited about it.'
