Pokemon X And Y Update: Full Pokedex Coming Soon [VIDEO]? Junichi Masuda Addresses France Inspiration, Honedge

With Pokemon X and Pokemon Y set to be released worldwide October 12, Game Freak designer Junichi Masuda recently addressed the upcoming 3DS titles in a Youtube video.

In the video, the 45-year-old designer discusses his inspiration with France to create the new region Kalos, new Pokemon Honedge,

"We decided to use beauty as a game theme, and when thinking about where such a place would be, we were inspired by on country in particular," says Masuda.

"[France is] a country which is very particular about fashion and the aesthetics of their cuisine. A country concerned with the beauty of words. As it happens Kalos comes from the ancient Greek word meaning beauty."

Lumiose City, one of the locations in Kalos, is in fact inspired by Paris!

In addition, the new sword-like Pokemon has been formally introduced to North American fans as Honedge, a new Steel/Ghost dual-type Pokemon.

As an update from yesterday's leaked photos, Honedge is believed to have an ancient soul reside within.

So far, 21 Pokemon have been unveiled for the Pokemon X and Pokemon Y Pokedex, not to mention the myriad of older generation Pokemon which have been included during gameplay trailers.

Does this mean the full Pokedex is coming soon?

With more reveals bound to arrive with Pokemon Smash! and the upcoming Pokemon movie, not doubt fans will get the full roster of Pokemon X and Pokemon Y soon!
