With 'Gangnam Style' Anniversary Around The Corner, Can Psy Reach 2 Billion YouTube Views?

With the one-year anniversary of the release of "Gangnam Style" just around the corner - can the record-breaking hit song make it to 2 billion YouTube views?

On July 15, 2012, Korean rapper Psy released his entertaining music video for "Gangnam Style" from his sixth album, Psy 6 (Six Rules).

After having nearly instant success in native South Korea (the song debuted at number one on the country's GaOn music chart), the song and video spread through the internet a month later receiving mixed reviews.

By September, it was inescapable. "Gangnam Style" was everywhere - and gaining more and more YouTube views by the second.

In December, Psy broke a tremendous world record when "Gangnam Style" became the first video to reach a billion hits on YouTube.

Since then, the quirky music video continues to rack up views, and now, just days shy of the one-year anniversary, many of us are curious if the iconic song will reach the 2 billion mark by its birthday.

At just over 1.73 billion views on July 9, it seems a bit unlikely. However, with the hype expected to increase as the anniversary of its release approach, "Gangnam Style" is expected to see another spike in online views.

So, why not help Psy on his way to another record, and give "Gangnam Style" another watch:
