Execs At Xia Junsu's Record Label Furious After LOEN Entertainment Scales Back Promotions 6 Days Before JYJ Singer's Solo Release

South Korean singer Xia Junsu of the group JYJ might have sold out an 18,000-seat arena in Seoul in less than 15 minutes on Monday according to BNT, but executives at his record label C-JeS Entertainment are fuming over a promotional partnership gone wrong with LOEN Entertainment.

On Monday night, six days before Junsu was scheduled to perform on LOEN's music network to mark the release of his second solo album "Incredible," the company announced they would be seriously scaling down their promotional efforts for the record, according to the website allkpop.

"We will distribute Xia [Junsu]'s album on and offline, but we have decided to scrap the plans for promotional marketing," read Loen's letter to C-JeS Entertainment.

"This is the decision coming from within from the executives, so we ask for your understanding. For the showcase inviting MelOn customers, we will broadcast live through LOEN TV, but we will not be able to show it through MelOn."

C-JeS Entertainment executives called the downsizing of television promotion for Junsu's album cowardly and illegal.

"The decision to rule that exposure on MelOn is not possible and to air through Loen TV only with the excuse that it is the executives' decision just six days before the showcase is clearly oppression from those in power," read an official statement from C-JeS.

"This kind of notice just six days before the release is an act of oppression, preventing us from pursuing contracts offering better conditions from other sources."

The company vowed to take legal action against LOEN Entertainment.

"We will be filing a civil appeal to the Fair Trade Commission and Anti-Corruption and Civil Right Committee against [LOEN], who has misused their position as a distribution company to one-sidedly terminate an agreement made between two companies, and do our best to regain our rights," the statement added.

One anonymous C-JeS employee expressed their frustration over the last minute cancellation to the website TENASIA.

"We're paying for everything including the cost that goes into producing the showcase so to say that they won't air it at this point is clearly a violation of the contract we agreed on and they are deceiving his fans as well," the employee said.

"They are also abusing us by notifying us of such an issue just six days ahead of the album's release."
